Last year we visited Bali. We were fortunate enough to have 4 weeks and our sons joined us for the first 10 days. One of the highlights of our visit was starting out with a driver guide. But rather than go by car we asked our guide (Komang Diantara www.bali-tour-driver.com) if he could take us on a motorcycle tour! He was a little unsure at first (Bali roads can be a bit crazy with motorcycles everywhere), however he agreed. He hired a couple of bikes for us and then went home to get his motorcycle. We headed off to explore the surrounding countryside from Ubud. What fun, the wind in our face, the smells, the back streets, the local transport. From then on we were hooked and hired a scooter for the rest of our stay. We hired Komang a few more times to go on bigger trips, further a field and then later when we visited a fishing village (Padangbai) and our return trip to the airport. Thank you Komang - you were a great support in making our holiday both an adventure and comfortable.
P.S. Padangbai was a great place to visit too. Quieter and yet still exotic. Other highlights of our Bali trip were snorkling off Padangbai and off the reefs of Nusa Lembongan.
